We kicked things off with a quick introduction and began by showing them an Avis- pad which gave rise to a tidal wave of questions, which were all answered. Now, the children were thought to make three different types of paper planes, which led on to a competitive paper plane race and ended with a lot of laughter. To finish the day off we showed them few videos regarding mans early flight attempts which was ridiculed by the children, making it very clear that technology has come a long way. With the blink of an eye, it was day two, a day of crafts and colours. We reached the school and surprisingly were welcomed by an array of excited, smiling children pumped with energy as if they were on a sugar rush. We started the day, by teaching them to make a simple 3-D flower which mesmerised the little ones.

Next, we began with a mind bending geometric pattern and let the kids colour it to their liking. A little war broke out where each one of them claimed theirs was the prettiest. We pledged for peace and followed up with our final activity for the day, a figurine who could dance. The joy on their faces cannot be described whatsoever. We wrapped the day by conducting a few games and got them to run around the lot. The third day, we helped them make Chuck gliders and let them make it colourful with their imagination. Following this, we had rounds and rounds of flying the gliders around. The kids were all over the place running behind their “custom designed” gliders. On the fourth day, we engaged them with fun activities. We thought them how to Floss, the Macarena, the Running man and lots of other dance moves. We had the most fun teaching them how to bust crazy dance moves.

The fifth day, we thought them a must have skill, Cooking. Well, cooking without fire, to be more accurate. Obviously, we can’t hand little children fire unless we want to burn down half the street. They made salads for themselves and learnt how important green vegetables are for their growth and development. The next day was the most anticipated. The sixth day, we conducted a range of science experiments, ranging from a volcano to a rainbow. The whole day they were at the edge of their seat wondering what would happen next and how it happened.

It was the activities that gave them the Knowledge

The last day had to be, by far, the best day. We had scheduled three sessions of air shows, but because of abundance of time, we ended up doing four sessions instead. We flew our F21 Raptor and Avispad, but the children were more attracted and fascinated by the Raptor more than the Avispad. After the air shows, we started to wrap everything up. We wrapped everything by clicking photos with the kids and distributing certificates. It was an amazing week spent with the most interesting lively children ever.

Everyone has an urge to fly, be it in sky or in life. While flying in sky is fun and entertainment, coming up with flying colours in life is a real achievement.
